Avi Asher-Schapiro is an investigative journalist focusing on the intersection of technology and human rights. He currently works as a reporter for ProPublica, covering Big Tech and the Trump administration in Washington, D.C.. Previously, he served as a tech correspondent for the Thomson Reuters Foundation and held positions at VICE News, International Business Times, and the Committee to Protect Journalists. His work has been published in various outlets, including The New York Times, The Atlantic Monthly, and Harper's Magazine. He earned a master's degree in journalism and Middle East studies from NYU and is a graduate of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, also having been a Fulbright Fellow in Cairo.
